Pulitzer Prize winning news source The Gazette recently featured IP Automation’s president Ilia Petkov, the engineering firm’s dedicated and highly industrious founder. The adjacent photograph of IPA’s factory equipment was also featured in a recent article on US manufacturing in the The New York Times.
Raised in post-World War II Bulgaria, Petkov overcame dire circumstances to bring himself and his family to the United States. His steadfast work ethic and talent for engineering design brought him notoriety as an engineer and success as an entrepreneur.
At 70–years–old, Petkov has no plans to retire from his thriving manufacturing company. Instead he continues to navigate IP Automation through the manufacturing industry’s rough waters, constantly diversifying industries the engineering firm serves and expanding its fabrication services.
Says former coworker Bob Coyne, Petkov is “a wizard of machinery.”
