Ilia Petkov, IP Automation.

Colorado Springs engineering firm IP Automation enthusiastically began 2016 with an increase in our production areas, then culminated in an esteemed award-winning moment. At the end of March, IP Automation won the manufacturing award at the Celebrate Technology 2016 Awards ceremony in Colorado Springs.

As we move deeper into the second quarter of 2016 our Colorado Springs engineering and manufacturing firm is…

IP Automation’s latest railroad machinery.

1. Putting the final touches on completing the manufacturing of our newest clipper machine for the railroad industry. It is a revolutionary design named after the mythological Hydra and will complement our existing Hyena series of clippers.

2. Continuing to expand our business with the railroad industry as we finalize plans to attend the AREMA Conference and Exhibition this summer in the Orlando, Florida area.

3. Adding a press brake to our inventory of machinery, allowing us to perform bending operations internally to further meet our customer’s needs.

Our custom machining now includes bending operations.

4. Continuing to work with NatureRails, LLC and an architectural firm on a large opportunity for custom designed, artistic metal railings for a structure to be built on the top of Pikes Peak in Colorado.

US Senator Michael Bennet visits IP Automation.
Senator Michael Bennet visited IP Automation on site at our Colorado Springs engineering and manufacturing firm. The Senator’s visit to IP Automation took place during his travels throughout Colorado to hear the concerns companies have about transportation issues. IP Automation was honored to be one of the company’s on the Senator’s visitation list.

Prior to a facility tour of our engineering and manufacturing firm, Senator Bennet heard from staff and manufacturing executives of various companies. We spoke of our mutual concerns, including the need of additional lanes on the I-25 corridor. Lack of lanes  along the corridor are causing delays, creating additional costs and inefficiencies in doing business in the Denver area.

Advancing Colorado Manufacturing

Breaking News for Colorado manufacturing industry

To advance Colorado manufacturing and tech businesses, state officials announced a $7 million investment in the industry’s colorado manufacturinglocal workforce.

The Colorado Economic Development Commission aims to make the state more attractive for major headquarters and boost interest in the region’s manufacturing potential.

As The Denver Business Journal reports, the project includes a $1.2 million dollar boost for the automotive and medical industry. Additionally, $731,000 will be allocated to the National Wind Technology Center in Boulder to improve the production of wind turbines.

The Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) hopes the investment will boost their goal to create 10,000 Colorado manufacturing and technology jobs. The state’s sizeable investment in Colorado technology and manufacturing jobs shows a commitment to the region’s potential as an engineering hub.

As a dedicated advocate for Southern Colorado manufacturing and engineering, IP Automation regularly participates in regional events such as the SOCOM expo. Together with other engineering firms, we hope to educate Colorado manufacturing’s next generation.

Engineering Design Of The New Tesla Model 3

Engineering design in the automobile industry

The world is abuzz after the release of Tesla Motor’s new Model 3. This sleek new car with impeccable engineering design is not only the newest offering from Telsa, the famous electric car company, it is their entrance into the affordable car market.

The new Model 3 retails for $35,000 (still a pretty penny but a lot less than their other models, which can go as high as $116,000) and has all of the standard features that have made the electric car company famous: speed. The Tesla team’s engineering is some of the best in the world and they use many of the same engineering design and custom machining techniques that IP Automation has mastered.

engineering design

One feature that stands out to the public is the elimination of the front grille of the car. Tesla has used engineering design and their electric technology to completely eliminate the need for one.  Because electric cars have different needs for cooling than standard combustion engines the new front of the Model 3 features a sleek custom-machined body.

While the new design of Tesla’s car is certainly bold, it’s just one example of how proper engineering design and custom machining give products efficiency and personality.

Senator Michael Bennet visits IP Automation

U.S. Senator Michael Bennet met company founder Ilia Petkov and other IP Automation executives along with others individuals from the manufacturing industry sector to discuss concerns regarding transportation issues along the Interstate I-25 corridor between Denver and Colorado Springs. The lack of completion of widening a portion of the corridor was brought to his attention as it relates to manufacturers experiencing frustrating and costly delays in conducting business in the Denver area due to the resulting congestion.  Senator Bennet is aware of this problem and went on to give the latest information as to the status of completing this project.  The picture shows Senator Bennet being shown IP Automation’s latest automated, multi-head clipper machine for Safelok I & III, E- Clip and other clips for the railroad industry.
