Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals’ Rocky Mountain Chapter (RMC CHMM) is proud to announce a tour of IP Automation, an engineering design and fabrication company on July 15, 2015.
IP Automation (IPA) designs and manufactures custom, one-of-a-kind devices and machines. They also offer machining services such as laser cutting, cnc machining and water jet cutting.
With the recent addition of the latest Cincinnati laser cutter and Colorado’s largest water jet cutter, IPA clients get the best options for cutting materials such as metals, steel, acrylic, glass, plastics, concrete and stone.
The engineering and machine services company recently completed a large water jet cutting project for Bechtel/Ionex. Large sheets of stainless steel were cut for their Hanford, Washington, project.

Colorado Congressman Doug Lamborn stopped by Colorado Springs to tour IP Automation. During his visit, covered by Fox 21 News, Lamborn stressed the value that small businesses like IP Automation add to the U.S. economy and manufactoring industry.
“Small business is the backbone of our economy,” said Small business creates most of American jobs. So we have to have good policies in Washington. Energy, healthcare, regulation and taxation that lets small business thrive.”
Congressman Lamborn’s tour also highlighted the importance of the railroad industry’s engineering and production sectors. As a major railroad engineering design and production company, IP Automation plays a vital role in the nation’s railroad and manufacturing industry.
IP Automation now offers state–of–the–art laser cutting service after investing in a laser cutter from Cincinnati Incorporated. As recognized by The Gazette, IP Automation’s president Ilia Petkov anticipates the innovative laser cutting service will improve the engineering firm’s productivity and expand its manufacturing capabilities.
In addition to increased engineering production, the $500,000 investment will lead to new jobs to operate the laser cutting machinery.
IP Automation’s versatile laser cutter services are the highest of the metal cutting and engineering industry. With linear motors for speed, accuracy and reliability, the laser cutter operates at 12,000 ipm rapid traverse speeds and 1–inch cutting capabilities. An autofocus head featuring 10″, 7.5″, and 5″ lens drawers guarantees accuracy while its 5’x10′ dual pallets allow for maximum production.
