Engineering design in the automobile industry
The world is abuzz after the release of Tesla Motor’s new Model 3. This sleek new car with impeccable engineering design is not only the newest offering from Telsa, the famous electric car company, it is their entrance into the affordable car market.
The new Model 3 retails for $35,000 (still a pretty penny but a lot less than their other models, which can go as high as $116,000) and has all of the standard features that have made the electric car company famous: speed. The Tesla team’s engineering is some of the best in the world and they use many of the same engineering design and custom machining techniques that IP Automation has mastered.
One feature that stands out to the public is the elimination of the front grille of the car. Tesla has used engineering design and their electric technology to completely eliminate the need for one. Because electric cars have different needs for cooling than standard combustion engines the new front of the Model 3 features a sleek custom-machined body.
While the new design of Tesla’s car is certainly bold, it’s just one example of how proper engineering design and custom machining give products efficiency and personality.
